Parenting the Oversensitive Child
Is there a book out there for this?
He cries
He gets his little feelings hurt
He is very tenderhearted & easily shows love
Gives lots of hugs and kisses
Tells you often he Loves you & the babies
Gives lots of hugs and kisses
Tells you often he Loves you & the babies
When you give him the LOOK when he's done something wrong- he bursts out crying
He cries when Penn teases him
Or pushes him
Isaac really is the SWEETEST little person

Point & Case
A few nights ago I made a yummy Rachel Ray dish which included whole wheat noodles, Italian sausage, caramelized onions, spinach, cherry tomatoes, a touch of cream, and parmesean cheese. Penn ate a huge plate full. To my NON surprise Isaac didn't like it and ended up eating a huge chunk of "Carmesean" cheese. Which is just fine by me.
Thats when Bryan said - oh Isaac you like the goat cheese, huh... neigh, neigh (making a goat sound)
Then Penn put up his two pointer fingers and pretended to be a goat and said neigh, and Isaac just started crying. I hate to admit this but Bryan, Penn, & even Luke & I were laughing - i'm sorry but it was just too funny! I know its hard to be a BLUE personality living with YELLOWS & REDS. Yes, we DO LOVE ISAAC very much- but just HOW do you PARENT/DISCIPLINE an OVERLY SENSITIVE CHILD without Breaking their Sweet Little Spirit?

How is Isaac doing at school? Is his sensitive side getting touched?
Im struggling with Leah- her feelings are ALWAYS hurt because so and so didnt want to play with her, she has "no friends" and on top of that- still cries every morning when I walk her into her classroom. SHEESH! Im going crazy. And my baby body is killing me which only adds to the fire.
Here's my recipe for parenting a sensitive child:
1 1/2 c. of Kindness
1 pinch of Patience
1 hand full of Holding Your Tongue
2 Tbs. of Tenderness
1 dash of Discipline
3 tsp. of Teaching
1 quart of Quality Time
Mix together in one big bucket of love and apply daily.
I also recomend "Love and Logic". You are an awesome mom, Mary Jane. :)
