I thought this would be fun to have in Isaacs memory book. A letter from his 2nd grade teacher.

Mrs. Smith,

Thanks so much for such a wonderful email! I told Isaac about it, and how it made me feel so good!

Let me see if I can address all of your concerns:
1.Homework: Monday night - spelling words 3x each, due Tuesday

Friday - reading log due, 60 minutes of reading for the previous week

Friday - conduct sheets go home, due back to me on Monday morning (signed)

Misc - we will get an occasional homework that doesn't fit into those sections - mainly math review.
2. Behavior - Isaac is doing well in class. He had that one day last week where he couldn't calm down and focus, but other than that, he's very attentive. He is always remarkably polite, helpful, and caring - both with me and his peers. He does have this sneaky nose picking thing going on - I'm trying to gently break him of it, but so far it hasn't worked.

3. Bathroom - The minute he realized that you and I had talked about his bathroom time, he seemed to know that the jig was up! He hasn't asked to go any more than anyone else.
4. Happy - Isaac doesn't really seem to be bubbling over happy - but I haven't sensed that he's unhappy, either. He plays with other kids, follows directions, does his work, etc. What is unusual about Isaac is that he makes very astute, high-level observations about things. He's spiritual and I can tell that he's read alot or been exposed to a lot of books.
5. Handwriting/Reading - I think it is great that you're working with him at home. You can never read too much with your kids. His handwriting does need some work. Explain to him that his handwriting is what he uses to communicate his knowledge - if we can't read it, then he's not getting his point across. Handwriting practice will not hurt him!

Thanks again for such a sweet email. I hope you and your sweet little family are all well. Let me know if there's anything I can do.
