Motherhood is Challenging, OVERWHELMING, joyful, HAPPY, stressful, AMAZING, tender, INDESCRIBABLE, & INCREDIBLE. Their BRIGHT little faces just seem to shine with excitement over the tiniest little things like making a block tower, jumping off the furniture, climbing up a tall ladder, running so fast they almost fall over, and crying because their blankie is warming in the dryer and not in their hands.
Penn especially is a little deviant boy, he dumps out his milk at dinner and laughs. He is a little turkey. One funny thing that he said lately is when we were driving to the store. He said "mom, where you going?" I said, "we are going to the store." He said, "I wamt some candy", then there was a little pause and then Penn said " Oh dear, I forgot my wallet!"
Luke is a little angel with outbursts of temper. Isaac is easy going, methodical, and kind. He is what I would describe as an emotionally intelligent child. He is smart too, but he is very aware emotionally of others. This was exhibited today as Bryan dropped him off at school, instead of pushing his way through the doors, he quietly held open the door for about 1 dozen students before going in after them. He is thoughtful.
There are so many emotions tied to motherhood and homemaking. Today Penn and I both got small hot chocolates at Starbucks, we sat quietly and looked out the window and talked about the rain, he was so calm- for once. He was wearing this one piece orange jumpsuit with a puppy on it- and just looked so warm and cuddly. And today when I took them both to the library, Luke just loved running around in the children's area, showing off his new running skills. His hair was white and fluffy and sticking up everywhere. He enjoys sitting and reading brief stories- this is a good stage to really enjoy the simplicity of life. I love my children. They fill my life with purpose & meaning.
