For the last few months I have been agonizing over pre-school for Isaac. Last year he attended Trinity Episcopalian Day School which was amazing and he absolutely loved it. The teachers and staff were truly remarkable and his experience was great. However, after I registered him for this coming year I got an invoice in the mail that explained that I owed 200 more dollars for classroom supply fees/ teacher fees. This fee did not include any tuition for the first month. I was pretty irritated. I mean, what is with all the fees- after I added it all up- it easily was more than I paid for my first 2 years of college education alone! (granted I had scholarships, but still) So I decided that even though yes, we could technically afford to send him to school- it was the principle that mattered. After all- it has been said- " a fool and his money are soon parted."
Since then, I have been trying to find SOMETHING to have Isaac do. At first I thought, I could get a group together- i'm sure I could do it- but having these IRISH TWINS, I knew I was content with getting the basics done.
I thought about the YMCA, but that is a time commitment plus the driving- and interruptions in nap schedules-it was clear that even though it was reasonably priced, it wasn't what would really help in any way.
So finally I decided- what the heck, i'll just APPLY to the PRE-K program at the elementary school. I had picked up the paperwork a few weeks before and after looking over them It was pretty clear that unless your child was ESL then you wouldn't be accepted. However, I knew we may have a chance when it comes to income. So I decided- what the heck- its worth a try. So today we brought all the paper work including shot records, recent pay stubs, birth certificate, utility bill, & social security card- all to the office. The secretery glanced it over and then looked at me... then she said- "everything looks great... we have a few spaces open for the afternoon class." I was so excited! I didn't think we would qualify, but we do, after looking through all the information- we qualify and so Isaac is at school RIGHT NOW! He will be going from 12:15- 3:30 Monday through Friday. THIS IS PERFECT! And it is FREE! NO 200 dollar fees here, and no tuition- and his teacher is such a sweet heart. She is an older woman which I was so happy about becuase older teachers- are usually always better teachers from experience. And ISAAC was THRILLED! He was so happy to go home, get his backpack, & comb his hair like "missionary hair." And I brought him back to the elementary, kissed him goodbye, told him to remember to be kind and off he was like a big pre-school kid!
I could not be happier- first of all, i'm so grateful that something worked out because I really needed a break and so did Isaac. More Importantly I know Heavenly Father has answered my prayers about finding a place for Isaac. I am so HAPPY TODAY!

How perfect is this?! I'm so happy for you and Isaac both.
Yay, I'm so happy for you and Isaac! Pre-K will be much easier (and cheaper!) for you. I loved TEDS, but it was kind of pricey.
OMG MARY JANE!! THAT'S AWESOME!!! NOah will have to have Isaac over so they can talk about their "school stuff". I am so excited for you!! We will have to get together during "nap" times and do some crafty crafts.
Yay!!! Congrats. :) It's too bad that Isaac and Carter are on opposite schedules, but pre-K is so good for them and us.
