Last night, Isaac went in his bathroom to fill up a squirt gun...
a few minutes later I hear this conversation:
Bryan: Hey, what are you doing in here, buddy? Why is it all wet in here? Is this Pee?
Isaac: I was trying to pee in the sink, but it just got all over!
Bryan: What? Isaac this is so naughty, this is a naughty thing to do!
Isaac: instantly breaks down " I just wanted to see what would happen, but I missed, and it got all over"... then has a complete breakdown.. cry fest.
I enter the picture:
Let me take care of this...
I help Isaac take off his clothes, give him a quick bath, put on his pajamas- and just say... "you know what? You fee bad inside because you didn't follow the rules of only peeing in the toilet. We'll do better tomorrow- and so lets just get this cleaned up. Clearly, he was past the point of no return- emotionally- he had been gone from our house all day and he just couldn't take it anymore! He just kept saying, I'm so sorry, and I missed you all day.
Times like this remind me- He is still a little child, very tenderhearted, and curious. We had a chat, we cleaned up the mess, and then got all tucked in to his nice cozy bed... read a few stories and he fell asleep immediately. Sometimes its hard being a kid and sometimes, its hard to be the dad, mopping up pee. I think at this stage of life Mr. Clean & an extra dose of patience is a parents best friend.

OH so true. Poor Isaac and poor mom and dad for cleaning up pee. We love you guys.
That is hilarious...although I'm not looking forward to the time I get to clean up pee all over! I just saw that Bryan's dad was diagnosed with cancer and I will keep him in my prayers. I hope he will battle through! Good luck with the new baby. Man, you are definitely outnumbered!
I love you guys! Next year for Bryan's birthday I'll give you a mopping up pee certificate instead of a babysitting coupon. :)
