On Being A Mother

This mothers day, I am so grateful for my own mother, she is so talented and looking back on my childhood, I can honestly say that she was such a good person and mother- we always looked so spiffy, had great Christmas's, and took time to do a lot of fun things and see a lot of great places! And, I totally lucked out in the mother in law department, Bryans mom is the most thoughtful person and always takes time to send cards and letters. There is a lot of love on both sides of the family and I am so appreciative for those precious relationships. Both my mothers are wonderful people who I can learn a lot from and I wish I had some of their great qualities!
When it comes to me as a mother, I have such a feeling of peace knowing that I have 3 little spirits that mean the world to me. I can't think of anything else i'd rather spend my time on than reading them stories, cleaning up their messes, folding laudry, making and remaking something yummy & creative for them to eat, playing school,- and making up fun Family Home Evening lessons for them. I love my little family that Bryan and I share and I am so grateful for the gift I have been given to be their mother. I love this stage of life, sure my house is not as perfect as i'd dream it to be, but my days of building huts out of the couch cusions and lysoling the dirt from the sandbox out of my bathtub- I know won't last forever. I am so grateful for the joy and fulfillment that motherhood has brought me and I am especially grateful for my husband who I think is a perfect fit for me- I love our family and am so thankful to be a MOTHER- it is the best gift!
